Lip augmentation can significantly improve appearance. Aesthetic medicine easily corrects pursed lips, reshapes the Cupid’s bow, re-curves lips and fills them in when they are too thin.
However, the aim is to harmonize the face without radically changing its expression, and to avoid the “duckbill” effect at all costs.
Treatment
The principle involves injecting a biodegradable filler into the inside of the lip, in the furrow between the skin and the pinkish mucosa. This product will be carefully selected by the doctor from a range of biodegradable products, in most cases based on hyaluronic acid (a natural substance already present in our bodies).
Results
The result is immediate. Slight swelling may persist for up to a week. The biodegradable injected product has a durability of around 6 to 12 months.
Duration
Depending on the product injected, 1 or 2 sessions 2 or 3 weeks apart will be required to obtain a lasting result. Each session lasts about 30 minutes.
