The fractional laser is particularly effective in treating wrinkles and the fine lines around the eyes and the mouth. It also refines the skin texture, reduces pores which are dilated in seborrhoeic skins and smoothes acne scarring. It also stimulates enhanced collagen production thus enabling skin firming.

Non-ablative fractional laser treatment

The treatment principle is based on micro-perforation of the epidermis by the laser beam thus generating microlesions which stimulate the production of collagen and encourage the renewal of the epidermis.

This phenomenon leads to a structural reorganisation of the epidermis which results in a smoother texture with a toning effect in the top layer of the dermis. These changes at a deeper level lead to long-term benefits and slow the natural ageing process.

Duration of treatment

The non-ablative fractional laser treatment is performed over the entire face under topical anaesthetic with Emla® cream. The session takes about 1 hour and 3 to 5 sessions are recommended with intervals of 2 to 4 weeks.

Result

The treatment causes slight redness and a minor oedema of the face which may persist for 24 to 48 hours. Recovery is particularly fast thanks to the fractionation system. The treatment sessions are easily integrated into a busy professional schedule. The result will be visible from 4 to 8 weeks after the last session when the collagen production is at its maximum and the skin looks smooth, healthy and rejuvenated.

Treatment with the new ablative fractional 2940 laser

This provides intensive smoothing of problem areas such as eye and lip contours. The functioning principle is the same as that of the non-ablative fractional laser but this one is much more powerful in terms of efficacy on deep wrinkles.

Duration of treatment

The treatment is performed under local anaesthetic and takes about 30 minutes. 1 to 2 sessions are recommended with an interval of 2 months.

Result

The treatment involves withdrawal from professional and social life for a period of about 5 days where scabbing of the treated area will occur on day 6, the skin will look normal again but complete results will only be visible from 4 to 8 weeks after the last treatment session when the collagen production is at its maximum and the skin appears healthy and rejuvenated.
